Andreas Charalambides has been exhibiting his paintings for fifty years, with solo and group exhibitions in many of the worlds best art galleries.Born in 1939 in Paphos, Cyprus, Andreas began drawing and painting as soon as he was old enough to hold pencils and brushes. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Athens, Andreas returned to Cyprus where he became the very first fine arts teacher in Paphos.
In 1975 Andreas was awarded a British Council Scholarship to study British Art at Reading University England, where he met Sir Terry Frost, with whom he shared a number of exhibitions, and who described Andreas Charalambides as "a painter who nurtures and develops tradition" . "A lifter up of the spirit, a master of the necessity for quiet contemplation."
